Building a Strong Emergency Action Plan
An emergency action plan is useful only when every team member knows what to do. Define how staff recognize an emergency, activate the response, perform a rescue, summon additional help, and control the scene.
Assign clear rolesDocument primary and backup responsibilities for lifeguards, managers, front-desk staff, and maintenance personnel. Include communication, crowd control, equipment retrieval, and emergency-service access.
Practice and improveRun realistic drills, record the outcome, and update the plan when a gap appears. Frequent practice turns a written procedure into a coordinated response.
